Good Morning

I hope everyone has been having a good month.

We had the HomExpo workshop for our vendors that want to see or need an idea of what and how to set up their booths.  There were a lot of good ideas for everyone, along with a nice continental breakfast.

Then we walked around the mall to check things out for the show.

Something new this year is our Kiosks displays.  These displays can be unmanned and they have 7′ x 4′ sections to display your company’s information and to get one of these it will only cost you $250.  If you would like one of these, please call the chamber office at 724.845.5426 to reserve one of these spaces.  You only have until January 31st to reserve a kiosk space.

Well, that is it for today.  Will get back to you with more later.

HomExpo 2012

HOMEXPO
… YOUR BUSINESS NEEDS THIS KIND OF EXPOSURE
…GET HUNDREDS OF LEADS IN ONLY THREE DAYS!
…February 10th, 11th, and 12th at the Pittsburgh Mills

If you’ve had days when you’ve been sitting around waiting for customers to call you or come through the door, then I’m going to ask you to do something to put life back into your business!  The StrongLand Chamber is here to help you and we’ve proven over and over again that by having a booth in the StrongLand HomExpo at the Mills Mall you will definitely find people who will help you improve your bottom line.

Sure it doesn’t just happen, so you’ve got to develop an interesting booth, with a few “bells and whistles” to “attract the eye of the passer-by”.  A good booth needs something to tell prospective customer, at a glance, who you are and what you do.  The customers at our home show actually look for you, because you are the reason that they come because we do a good job of promoting our HomExpo and the individual businesses that are in it.

Home Shows are great draws in the winter, ours especially, because it is the “largest free to the public” show in Western Pennsylvania and everyone is always looking for something free to do.  It’s sandwiched between the Monroeville and the Pittsburgh shows, which can cost a family of four more than $70 to attend, especially when you add in the parking.  We help everyone to forget their mid-winter troubles and get excited about the advent of spring.  In a recent study we have proven that over 80% of the people who come to the Galleria at Pittsburgh Mills during our show, come, not for regular mall shopping, but because they want to see the home show.

Sponsors this year are:  Riverview Homes, Inc. , First National Bank of PA , and Tyler Mountain Water.  It isn’t hard to become a sponsor, all you have to do is call us.  Sponsorships range anywhere from a Patron Sponsor for $100 to a Platinum Sponsor for $5000.

So if you want to inquire about available booth space, please call the StrongLand Chamber Office at 724.845.5426 or visit our website at strongland.org and click under events and HomExpo to get the actual floor plan and registration form. The StrongLand HomExpo will be held this year on February 10th, 11th, and 12th.  Apply to reserve a booth today, before they’re all taken.   Click here for regular vendor application, contract, and map.  Click here for the crafter application, contract and map.  Click here for the Kiosk application.

Happy Fall!!!

Fall has crept upon us and it is one of the prettiest times of the year. When Fall gets here you think of Halloween and Thanksgiving…..not that you want to wish your life away. But when you think of Halloween, I hope you think of the StrongLand’s Annual Commissioner’s Halloween Breakfast.

This year’s format is a little different. Since, this year is a big year in the election of county commissioners so we, at StrongLand, thought you might want to have a chance to see, first hand, what each candidate stands for. Please come to Willow Brook Country Club on Friday morning, October 28th at 7:30 a.m. for a truly wonder gourmet breakfast and a chance to see your candidates for County Commissioner in action. There will be time for questions as well as time to hear what each one has to say. For those of you who want to get a preview of candidate views you can go to the StrongLand website at www.strongland.org to see, in their own words, where they want to take Armstrong or Westmoreland County.

Also in November we have our Annual Dinner & Meeting.   It’s a Party… It’s a celebration… It’s a really good time and a chance to win a $5,000 dollar gift card plus some big-ticket prizes, including trips, a big screen TV, quality furniture and lots more.  It’s the StrongLand Annual Dinner and Players Club, scheduled for Laube Hall, Thursday, November 10th, 2011, where your seat includes a free ticket for the fabulous $5,000 Giant Eagle Gift Card.

“Light Hearted Gaming” is on the agenda where every time you win; you could win additional tickets for the Big Ticket Raffle, which includes your usual basket items but, also, the Chamber and Business Sponsors like Thomas Tours is adding overnight packages for Atlantic City, a big screen TV, Rivers Casino and Meadows Gaming Cash, Wood Lawn Furniture made by Stanford Home Center and others.

We also want to take a few moments to sincerely thank the retiring County Commissioners who have done so much for us.  Please come to the Annual Dinner to honor Jim Scahill, Tom Bayla, Tom Ceraso and Patty Kirkpatrick who have dedicated many years of their lives to service in Armstrong and Westmoreland Counties.  Please make a special effort to come and show your gratitude.

In addition, we will be honoring a couple of top notch StrongLand Volunteers and, of course, present the StrongLand Business of the Year.  All of this will be going on while everyone enjoys lifting a glass together and partaking in a great gourmet dinner served by Five Starr Catering.  Take the time to reserve your seat or table today, before they’re all gone.  Call us at 724-845-5426 to make a tentative reservation if you haven’t received your formal invitation yet.

If you belong to the Chamber and would like to come to either one or both of these events call the office for more information at 724.845.5426 or email us at www.strongland.org.  If you would like to buy a chance for $5000 Giant Eagle food/gas card call us and we can tell you how you can get one.

I will try to do better with the up keep of this blog.  I will try to at least update it every other week.  Although, I can not and will not promise that.
